Ryan's and Collin's talents did not, in fact, look to be exaggerated. Factor in a monster game from TK and a stud performance from Mike and we have ourselves some clear front runners early in the season. Let's get down to business.
TK took the liberty of the top score this week, but Aaron Jones gave Tmo the weekly challenge reward thanks to 132 yards and 2 touchdowns, amassing 34 points on the day.
Recaps
Collin 164.46 - 130.3 John Luke (Game Score: 82.5)
Honestly I feel for JL here because 130 points is almost always good enough for a top 5 point. In fact, since we adopted the Top 5 point system in 2018, only 11 of the 300 games since the start of 2018 have seen someone score 130+ and not get a top 5 score. 4 of those 11 games have been fuckin JAKE LAY YALL SHOCKER.
Now, all that being said, JL certainly didn't look like he'd be in that position until Monday night when Stefon Diggs went ape shit and scored 44.8 points in the Bills' thrashing of Tennessee. That was really his only strong performance of the weekend, so now that I think about it I don't actually feel that bad for JL. Collin had three players break 30 (one of which was Tampa Bays wild defense) including a 40 spot of his own from Jaylen Waddle in the Dolphins comeback win. THAT'S how you get a top 5 win, JL.
Nathan 117.78 - 178.72 TK (80.1)
Ok I gotta give TK a shoutout here yall. As of this week, TK officially has the best all-time record (94-70-1) and the most career PPG (126.4) in the entire league. Somehow despite that he has half the postseason appearances as John Luke, but I think he deserves some recognition this week (despite the fact that it could change in a week).
Annnyyywwaaayyyss not to keep stroking TK but his team spanked Nathan this week, really he would have spanked about anyone with a whopping 52 points from Lamar Jackson and 32.3 more from Nick Chubb. You know you've had a good week when you 25 point outing from your flex player is a side thought. Nathan let a great outing from Amon-Ra St Brown (39.4) go to waste with a bunch of bullshit from the rest of his team, including three single-digit performances and a 0 spot from Cole Kmet. TK wasn't gonna be stopped this week.
Tyler 114.96 - 153.5 Mike (78.8)
Tyler somehow managed to weasel his way to earning some cash this week from the weekly challenge, but he was still left going 0 for 2 on the week in terms of wins/top5s. Mike had a different Dolphin put up 40+ in Tyreek Hill, which was nicely complimented by Patrick Mahomes and his 21 points (which honestly was kind of an under-performance but hey 20 points is 20 points). Mike stays perfect on the year while Tmo drops to .500 as he gears up to face an Austin team that looks as dangerous as Austin is scrawny.
Garrett 108.36 - 149.52 Austin (75.8)
I almost don't want to make fun of Austin because I'm really flattered that he named his team after mine last year. And he's actually treating it well, which is just so thoughtful of him it's really out of his character. Austin, with a team name a mere few days old, laid the beat down on Garrett, with a team name that is (by my estimate) around 3,670 days old. But yo give some props to Justin Herbert who threw a late touchdown with shattered ribs to break 30 on the week.
Ryan 143.18 - 110.28 Jake (73.1)
I'm just not emotionally mature or intelligent enough to handle this week after week.
