Twas the Night Before Fantasy
Championship Edition

’Twas the night before the finals, and all through the league,
The managers fretted, consumed with fatigue.
The rosters were set with meticulous care,
In hopes that a championship soon would be theirs.

The worst teams were nestled all snug at the base,
Ryan, John Luke, and Austin, disgraced.
Their drafts were disasters, their seasons a mess,
Their group chat contributions? A pity at best.

Collin had Allen, a cannon-armed beast,
Saquon and Conner, a formidable feast.
Achane’s speed and potential were clear,
His lineup a monster, designed to strike fear.

But Nathan was ready, his weapons elite,
With Jefferson dancing, impossible to beat.
Derrick the freight train, unstoppable force,
CeeDee and London, both steady and coarse.

Meanwhile, for third, a battle ensued,
Jake versus Garrett, both equally shrewd.
Jake had Lamar, but Tyreek let him down,
And Bijan’s big moments had often been drowned.

Garrett, the champ, had traded it all,
Baker and Jacobs to answer the call.
Garrett Wilson’s heroics and luck on his side,
He’d mortgaged his future for one more sweet ride.

Now TK, Mike, and Tyler had dreams in their sights,
Their teams once contenders, gave rivals some frights.
But fate wasn’t kind, the playoffs slipped through,
In the last couple of weeks, their chances were slew.

TK had promise, his roster seemed fine,
But injuries and bye weeks derailed his climb.
Mike fought with passion, his squad played with heart,
Yet close losses ensured he'd not play a part.

Tyler, the wildcard, chaotic and bold,
Saw his playoff hopes crumble as his stars went cold.
They cursed their bad luck, their dreams turned to dust,
And joined the sad chorus of "Next year, we must!"

And there in the corner, the commissioner wept,
His championship dreams forever inept.
Year after year, he gives blood and sweat,
But after fourteen he's trophy-less yet.

Then all of a sudden, a voice broke the din,
A chant from the league, with a mischievous grin:
"Good luck to the finalists, may they both fight with grit,
But regardless of outcome... Fuck Austin, you twit!"
