I could go off on a tangent about how somehow losing becuase Chris Olave is a worthless sack of human garbage that has feet for hands, but instead I'm gonna change it up a little bit today folks. Instead of recaps, I'm going to do a segment on the thre tiers of players we have this year. The Contenders, the Dreamers, and the Disasters. I'm also inclined to go off on a tangent at Austin and Ryan for somehow BOTH being 0-10, a feat that's almost impressive at this point, but we'll save that for next week when they're both likely 0-12 (they play each other the week after that so someone will be forced to get a win). But sometimes I feel like the same old same old can get a little stale, so lets take a new look shall we? First, lets knock out the admin stuff.
Nathan, Garrett, and TK each had over 30 team receptions on the weekend, but Garrett juuustttt edged out the win with 37 to Nathan's 36. They also all scored quite well, funny how that works, maybe Tyler with THIRTEEN (that's as many as
Ryan, Tmo) can learn a thing or two about good fantasy lineup management?

Last place after the week concludes (may as well just go ahead and give this to Ryan, yeah?)

King of the Hill
BOOM and our first out of the season is AUSTIN. Garrett, John Luke, and Ryan are all at a precarious 2 strikes, while Collin, Jake, and TK are on the lookout with one a piece. Just like we all thought, Nathan remains strikeless throughout the first third of the season. If you'll notice, next week is the last week where 3 strikes are assigned each week, then it goes to only 2 until the last third of the season where its only 1.
Week 5 League Pulse
THE CONTENDERS
After five weeks, four teams have put themselves at the top of the standings in a tight contest. Tyler, who went 1-1 on the week from not landing a top 5, has been at or near the top all year, and will only get stronger when AJ Brown comes back off injury. Nathan has by and large been the surprise of the season, also sitting at 8-2 with Tmo and averaging over 140 PPG thanks to having the monster in cleats known as Derrick Henry and a dynamic Jefferson-London WR duo. Rounding out the contenders are Jake and TK, who just finished a heated contest. Now, the nice part about the bonus wins are that you can be a little more agnostic to the matchup luck, all these men have earned Top 5s in 4 of 5 weeks (except Tmo), but lets take a look at the other side of the coin. This group is a combined 21-4 in head-to-head record, but all four of those losses were intra-tier (Jake and TK lost to Tmo, Nathan lost to Jake, Jake lost to TK). That puts this group at 17-0 against the rest of the league, and these four currently sit as favorites to make a playoff run.
THE DREAMERS
Collin, Mike, and Garrett are by no means out of the hunt. Hell, its only week 5, there's still EONS of ball left, and these three could all go to the playoffs, who knows? But they sit in limbo for now. Collin has been putting up average numbers, but he's 0-2 against the Contenders and still has at least four games remaining against them. But Kupp's return is on the horizon and, assuming Achane isn't out long, Collin could easily get right back into the swing of things and vie for a 4th straight playoff appearance. Mike has probably been the victim of circumstnace this season, if there has been one. He's 4-1 on Top5s, but a second consecutive loss puts him a 2-3 in H2H. With Jake coming up next week, he has the chance to strike up and turn his fortune around. Garrett is the one that deserves this spot the most. Slightly above average PPG, .500 record, and he's failed to land any impressive wins. This weeks was his best but it came against a dead flounder. Again, let me speak deep into the ether that I'm by no means counting these teams out, lotta ball left.
THE DISASTERS
Ok ether THESE teams I'm counting out. John Luke doesn't really deserve this stamp as much as Austin and Ryan do, but he's earned it coming off last year's travesty. Like... They're 0-10?? Are there any insults or digs I can throw at them to actually make them feel any worse than the fact that they're ZERO AND TEN? Ryan is about to play Tmo, and Austin Collin, so at BEST they'll go into next week's matchup at 1-11 each. This almost has to be the worst matchup of all time, right? You'll bet your ass I'll check it out next week if it comes to that. Austin will be quick to blame injuries and throw his team under the bus because he has no leadership, but Ryan... Well Ryan you may need to blame your kid or something because you just have a bad team. Fortunately for both Ryan and Austin, the bar of WOAT is pretty damn low, Ryan went 5-25 in 2018, the first year we did Top5s, so just... beat that?
Are You Better than the Georgia Bulldogs?
And RYAN, while he survives the King of the Hill to die another week, falls as the latest victim to this week's very thin Georgia lineup. By the transative property, Ryan, your fantasy team is actaully worse than Vanderbilt. Hope that resonates with you and helps you change your ways. Austin... you'd better watch yourself. You only beat the lineup by 0.56 points.
